show you business some love roses on a book

Show your business some love!

February may be the month of love, but are you showing your business any love right now?

Are you showering it with the affection and attention it deserves?

Or are you leaving it feeling unloved and underappreciated?

And I know you’re super busy. And when it all feels too much, it’s difficult to even think about how to establish firm and successful processes and systems.

But when you give your business a dash of much-needed TLC, it’s only going to lead to success!

In this blog, I’d love to show you FIVE EASY WAYS you can nurture your business and show it some love!

1. Install an effective business management solution

If you want to streamline operations, drive growth, improve client communications, position yourself in a competitive market (and generally be in control of your business!), you’re going to need an efficient business management tool.

This is even more important if you’re a solopreneur or one person managing a small team.

You need software in place to help you manage the day-to-day operations of the business.

You need a system that streamlines your processes, removes bottlenecks and automates simple tasks, leaving you with more time to work on the tasks that drive your business forward.

There are loads of different options out there, but one of my all-time faves has got to be Dubsado. If you haven’t heard of it, go and check it out. (You can thank me later!)

2.  Emulate love by nurturing your leads and enquiries properly

It’s all well and good having a fantastic website and gorgeous social media profiles, but if potential clients are getting an average experience when they reach out to you, it’s all a bit meaningless.

So make sure you’re nurturing your enquiries and leads by giving them a super smooth journey through your business:

Here are five simple questions to get you started…

  1. Is there a clear way to contact you?
  1. Is your information easy to understand and navigate? Is there enough detail for a potential client to make an informed choice about the services/products you offer?
  1. Do you have a lead magnet to help you constantly attract new leads?
  1. Do you have marketing in place that highlights the personality and ethos of your business?
  1. Are you making sure you’re actioning enquiries quickly and efficiently?

3. Manage your team effectively

The real heart and soul of any business are the people who work in it.

Your team are your business, so it’s essential for them to feel loved, nurtured and respected.

If you get this bit right, not only will you retain that extraordinary talent, but your clients will feel the love too… leading to more repeat business and those all-important recommendations.

Little gestures can go a long way! Simple things like…

  • Saying thanks for a job well done
  • An impromptu early finish
  • Cakes on their birthday
  • Effective one-to-ones to discuss performance and progression
  • Systems and processes to make their lives easier!

4. Get those finances in order

Always leaving your tax returns to the last minute and wondering why you feel so stressed out?

When your business finances aren’t in order, it’s not only a massive pain in the backside, but it’s also emotionally draining.

So, make a promise to yourself to show your finances some love too!

Here’s how….

  • Keep your personal and business finances separate. Mixing things up will lead to confusion and additional work.
  • Use accounting software that works for you and your business. There are loads of great options, such as Xero, QuickBooks and Sage.
  • If you need to, hire a professional! Don’t struggle and try to do it all yourself if you don’t have the time or knowledge to do it properly.
  • Track your finances regularly. If you don’t know your business’s financial health, you’ll find it pretty much impossible to make informed decisions.
  • Create a budget. It’s easy to overspend if you haven’t set yourself a realistic budget!

5. Make sure your business isn’t wearing you down!

Last (but by no means least!), make sure your business isn’t wearing you down!

Sometimes it feels like there just aren’t enough hours in the day.

But if you get the basics right, you can create an ordered and structured business that runs smoother, so you can make the best use of your time and fully enjoy being at the helm!
